The Creative Mind

Hi, my name is Alia Torres Cardenas. I am a senior at Archie Williams High School in Marin County, CA. I’m dyslexic, and my own experiences have shaped the way I see learning, creativity, and perseverance. While dyslexia has brought challenges, it has also given me a unique perspective that fuels my drive to advocate for others. Because I know firsthand how confusing and overwhelming it can feel to navigate school, resources, and support systems, I am passionate about raising awareness of dyslexia. Too often, people don’t get the help they need, not because they lack potential, but because the right understanding and tools aren’t available. I created this website to share knowledge, provide resources, and create a space where people with dyslexia and those who want to better understand it can find support. My goal is to spread awareness, break down stigma, and remind others that dyslexia is not a limitation but a different way of learning and thinking.
